13: Don’t Burst My Bubble
1. THIS makes me happy
2. I keep a rock by my bedroom window in case I have to scare away the neighborhood bear that might want to eat the deer that my husband Joe has hanging from the tree (our year’s supply of hunted meat.)
3. Sometimes I think that shadows are the real world and physical matter is a dream.
4. Joe has always said if he found the right tattoo design he might go ahead and get inked. I feel that way about an Occupy Wall Street. If I could come up with just the right sign I might go join the occupation.
5. I think it’s fitting that the word pie is in the word piece.
6. Strangest search that landed someone on my blog this week: mind altering potato chips.
7. I get residual royalty comments from these past posts more than any others: Poet’s Hotline, Primland Resort, and Speaking of Collage.
8. Can a Pope be recalled or required to get therapy? “Benedict claimed that as recently as the 1970s, “pedophilia was theorized as something fully in conformity with man and even with children.” In this climate, the Catholic Church’s actions were merely reflecting the moral relativism of the times: “It was maintained — even within the realm of Catholic theology — that there is no such thing as evil in itself or good in itself,” Benedict said. That is, church leaders weren’t sure if child sexual abuse was wrong, since secular society seemed to accept it. More HERE.
9. All my dreams are basically the same, involve being completely lost and relate back to early abandonment issues. Last night I dreamt that I walked all the way to Roanoke in the rain to take care of a little sick girl. It took everything out of me. A high school boy who tried to kiss me was looking up bus routes online to help me get back home.
10. Every morning one of the first things I do is look out the window and scan the yard for that resident black bear. This morning I was still half asleep when I saw a black cat pounce out of the shed and run across the yard and I thought for a split second that the bear had shrunk.
11. I almost wish I still lived in Massachusetts so I could vote for HER. Maybe she’ll run for president some day and I will.
12. THIS is the song I want played at my funeral.
13. Bursting bubbles for “justice” HERE.
More TT’s HERE.

love #10
I’ll vote for her for you 🙂
“mind altering potato chips” – oooh, sounds like fun!
Do you ever watch the tv show Fringe? Walter is an older man, who was apparently very much into the 60s, if you get my drift.

I totally agree about voting for “her”! 🙂
happy thurs 13

I miss all those good series because I don’t have cable or dish tv. I barely get a couple of network channels, including PBS.

Wow, it sounds like this black bear is really something.

I will never get a tattoo… and I do hope my kids will not get one too [without my knowledge].

I would vote for Ms. Warren in a Heartbeat!
Bryce and Bubbles—So Very Cute!!!
A great T13, as always Colleen…..And I love your choice of a song to be played at your Funeral……

This post was a blast to read. Only two, insignificant comments to make:
1) Pretty hip for a funeral song (little before your time)
2) Embrace the freckles

Oh, now I have to love you! How could I not, after reading all that?
May your funeral be long away … and that is a very good song, which I hadn’t heard before.

I would vote for *her* too.
I’m still getting that malicious virus notice from your website. 🙁

Very strange as I sat through an entire Catholic mass a few years ago where the priest ranted against relativism as the slippery slope to hell…!

I wish you could send me the whole article on Pope Benedict. The site is just opinions of the speech.
I love watching Byrce hammer for justice!

I could use some mind altering potato chips right now.
And I’m with you, I wish I lived there to vote for “her” as well. 🙂
Great song choice!
Happy T13,
~Xakara

8. mind blowing. hopefully better luck next pope.
9. wonder what’s holding that pattern. i used to get a lot of lost dreams. my dreams tend to be the opposite of my waking life so perhaps it means that now my waking i am lost more so my dreams don’t have to counter and your waking you are found to a disproportional degree.

Most of the stories on the pope are on reactions to his comments, but his comments are in quotes. Here is another one: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/world-news/popersquos-child-porn-normal-claim-sparks-outrage-among-victims-15035449.html

your 13 are always mind-bending. love #9, I too have similar dreams. what? #8 is just plain disturbing, but can’t say I’m surprised, really. I hope you get some peace soon from the black bear fears. happy weekend Colleen. I fixed the broken link for Weekend Reflections…I had forgotten to put it in. no surprise there either. thanks for the heads up.

ah, he speaks as a historian to a press with no memory. that’s a problem. he tried to teach context of relative scale of sins to people polarized in b&w, aka a wall. he’s out of his depth. the pope needs a publicist.
