On the Rocks
It’s amazing how “at home” I feel at the ocean and how comfortable I can make myself when the need for refreshment comes over me.
When we were kids, my friends and I wanted to live on the beach. We tried to make fire by rubbing driftwood sticks together to heat up cans of soup from our mother’s pantries. Our plan was to take shelter in the nooks and crannies of the granite boulder seawall if the weather got bad. Once, we skipped school and spent the day on the beach, practicing for when we would live there. But it seemed like a small eternity, waiting for school to let out so we could finally leave the beach and go home.

Boy, would I like to be there with you on those rocks!
I have a friend who moved to the coast of NH a few years ago, and she has told me about the White Mts. I’d love to see them someday.

When I saw your title I immediately thought of that song “Love on the Rocks” by Neil Diamond – actually I thought thats what it said and I had to do a double take!

I can almost feel the sun on my face, the heat of the rocks on my back. Your peace is contagious.

Those boulders bring back memories…. For 4-1/2 years I lived a mile from Dorchester Bay; being able to simply walk to the beach was an extraordinary blessing. The Gulf of Mexico has quite a different character but possesses its own nuances (even without hurricanes), for those times when I want to make the 10+ mile drive. Just looking at your photo is relaxing in and of itself.

Those were the days when we thought that life can be so simple without any rules

Thanks for the comments. I enjoyed reading some new blogs of the commentors above, but their sites wouldn’t let me comment. Wish we could talk!
