Overheard in Aspen
Woman on a cell phone: “So why’d you decide to get a BMW?”
Man on a cell phone: “You wouldn’t want to live with me. I’d rather have you not.”
CD playing at the toy store we were visiting just after being at the John Denver Sanctuary: John Denver singing “All Aboard,” train songs for kids.
Joe to Colleen at the toy store picking out a toy for his niece: “Do you like this?”
Colleen: “Yes, but I want it for me!”
Photo: “Sunshine on My Shoulder,” song lyrics inscribed on a boulder at the John Denver Memorial Sanctuary in Aspen Colorado.

Yes, I see now that the pictures aren’t so dark. At the Aspen Library they all looked dark…back on the road…

I love John Denver. Not he himself, but his sunny straw-haired idealized country boy persona. I should get a John Denver CD. My tape died a while back.

I wasn’t a huge fan of his, but I certainly liked “Take Me Home, Country Roads….” as I guess everyone from WV did/does.

The sun is shining on shoulders in this photo … it nearly brought tears to my eyes as I whispered the song to myself. You sure know how to stir emotion!
Perhaps today I’ll put on my old John Denver LPs.
