A Free Lunch
AKA: Hey, how’d that scrabble board get there?!
I heard there was no such thing as a free lunch, but it’s not true. I just won one at the Café Del Sol and I don’t even remember signing up for anything. When I asked the owner, Sally, how this happened, she told me that someone must have dropped my business card in a jar. What business, you ask? Words are my business and my blog is my storefront. The card reads “The Blogkeeper is in!”
Post Note: A Spoken Word Open Mic is being held this Saturday, November 19, from 7 to 9 PM at the Café Del Sol in Floyd. On Friday, November 18, Floyd’s Black Water Loft Café is hosting “Poems of Thanksgiving” in which 4 poets are slated to read, including myself.

Colleen … what a wonderful idea to have a blogkeeper business card! Leave it to you…
That Scrabble board looks so inviting. Judy (kenju) and I have a planned/unplanned date in Battery Park NYC to meet sometime and get a game going. 🙂 Oh I doubt I can outword her, but I’m just hoping to learn a thing or two!
Hope you enjoyed (or will enjoy) your free lunch.

Great idea! I don’t get business cards at work. Personal cards would be awesome for those free lunches. I love Scrabble too! Don’t get to play that much though. Kids need to learn to spell words longer than four letters…

Hola Colleen!
Nothing taste better than a FREE lunch. Good for you!
By the way, this is Colleen. I decided to change my screen name because all of a sudden I’ve come across a surprising number of bloggers who share our name. I LOVE chickadee birds and it has kind of become my nickname in real life anyway, so why not transfer it into the blogsphere.
Enjoy your lunch!

Wow, a free lunch. Some of us have never won anything, at all, ever. So enjoy it for all the little people who faithfully fill out those sweepstakes forms and the van with the balloons and the million dollar check never show up.
Also, good fortune with the poetry reading.

Congratulations and good luck at both readings.
