Sign of the Times
The following poem, written for the New Year 2004, was a featured “Poem of the Day” at Poets Against the War online that year and also appeared in The New River Valley Free Press. I think it still applies.
Sign of the Times
Put a “Do Not Disturb” sign
over the forest
Hang an “Out of Order” sign
on the White House door
Proceed with caution
Yield to your conscience
Handle the whole world
with care

I think that saying is so completely true, for 2004 and 2005. I hope that eventually we as a nation will start thinking with our brains again. You have such a great talent with writing things 🙂 Big hugs and best wishes for a great 2006!

This really takes me back. It’s good to hear a positive thought, and great to know that some of us can still be outraged by institutionalized idiocy in DC. Have the greatest of years, Colleen.
