isa
She has no last name – like Cher – and spells her first name in lower case letters. She paints mermaids on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. An improv dancer, dumbeck drummer, and teacher of Non-violent Communication, mostly isa’s a painter. Whether a Floydian or Hawaiin portrait, whether landscape or seascape, her animated pastels (several of which grace the walls of my house) splurge and excite. Her passionate oil paintings ignite with color in sweeping strokes of joyful expression.
Fasten your seatbelts and go take a look…. HERE.

Yes, she’s a friend who lived in Floyd for many years and then fulfilled her fantasy by moving to Hawaii to paint. She still has one daughter in Floyd high school ( a senior)who lives with her dad, and so isa comes back once or twice a year to visit her (and us!) She did Joe’s and my wedding portrait called “The rings.”
I think she looks like Kim Basinger.

I thought her paintings looked familar.
She does great work and it would be fun to be a mermaid or a fairy.

AND….I’ve been to Kauai twice and bet I know the nude beach there that she paints at. Incredible place to be! Mega energy and beauty.
I’d love to get something done by her…I’ve saved her site in my Favorites.
Would LOVE for you to show us the painting of your wedding that she did.
Thanks for sharing her with us.

Hers is the sort of talent with passion to match that draws out a curious mix of envy and inspiration in me. Beautiful work.

They are very beautiful and they give you a flowing feeling. They seem like they would be large. Wish I had a beach house on the ocean in which to hang some!
