Floyd’s Guinness Book of World Christmas Records
1. The number of people who fit on my couch on Christmas Eve broke a record.
2. A present so big it was used as a coffee table.
3. Best T-shirt
4. This is the present I got in our Christmas Eve neighborhood Yankee Swap. I call it Steve Martin’s brain.
Post Notes: Other unique gifts in the Christmas Eve swap included: a vase full of tootsie pops, a water saving shower head, sex game dice, and Where the Wild Things Are slippers from Spain.

There’s a couch under there?! 🙂

Very cool decoration with the cups and lights! A new spin on the disco ball….a dollar store chandelier!
And yes, I can see the comparison to Steve’s brain!

That’s exactly what I thought…a disco party ball! I’m surprised you can tell it’s made out of plastic cups … it is!
By the way, my couch is sage green. There’s just one little nano inch of it showing.

At last year’s in-law White Elephant, me Mutherinlaw made off with the Tiny Tim CD I put in the game. I now rue the day!
Love the couch picture!

Can you explain exactly what a Yankee swap is? Is it the same as a white elephant? And yes, that does look like Steve Martin’s brain, or Martin Short’s brain… I don’t know which!

Well it certainly doesn’t look like anyone wishes they were somewhere else! Must have been a great get together. Even the dog is laughing.

That’s what I call a very Merry Group…looks like you had a wonderful time and I like the way you showed it to us!

Yes, it’s probably more commonly called a White Elephant gift exchange. Here’s a link explaining it and all the different names it goes by. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_elephant_gift_exchange

Totally dig the Obama shirt–even though I just found out that he–gasp!–smokes! He’s not perfect!
Funky gifts are awesome. The best gift I ever gave was vintage wrapping paper I got on ebay for a friend who goes kind of wrapping-paper nuts. (She goes to Kate’s Paperie for $8 rolls, and whenever I buy paper, I’m like, “What is the paper’s square-foot-per-dollar ratio?” It has to be cheap–even if it’s see-through and made out of toilet paper.
Here from Michele.
