I love the captions. They are perfect. The one with all the birds lined up is amazing.

i love the “air force” one- they REALLY look like that…like they are on a mission. what type of bird is that? i’ve never seen one with the red above its beak like that.

I had never seen them before. I was guessing some kind of gull or tern and discovered they were terns. The Park motel across the street from the beach where I was picking up wireless had a large bird identification sign on the wall outside the office and I found it there. I was fascinated and took lots of photos of them and picked out my favorites to post.

What wonderful pictures Colleen….I love that you were able to photograph all these different birds in their many moods, so to speak…LOVE “Air Force”…Great. And that last picture is a classic! The place itself with all those birds have a coffee klatch, or whatever….WONDERFUL picture!

Great photos. Liked the lone bird on the pole, I was reminded of the Karate Kid.

What was that building once in that last photo? I love that shot but I wondered what originally belonged there!

Deana, we’ll have to ask Terri. I’m assuming it was part of a pier since it’s out in the water.

As someone else has said – your captions are a joy!

It looks like their honeymoon hotel has seen better days… here the seagulls nest in the rocks around the entrance to the Hampton Roads Bay Bridge Tunnel and this has sometimes posed a real problem… not the tidiest of birds.
