The Invasion
A milky way of dust
makes morning constellations
on a nebula of light
beaming through my bedroom window
Like thousands of parachutes
abandoning ship
they spin down in torrential orbits
landing on dressers
the bookcase and chair
setting up colonies
to plague me

Ah-ah-choo- sorry, allergic to dust mites!
Excellent poem otherwise though!
Michele sent me tonight to see what you’ve been doing, I liked the bar – themed pictures in the previous post too.

Science fiction poetry, neat. Reminds me of the Robin Cook book – Invasion – it happened pretty much just like that…

I’ve spent half the morning dusting and vacuuming those lovely particles. They just can’t seem to take a hint and stop landing on my furniture.

This is maybe the best one you’ve ever done, Colleen!!

“So glad you like it!” I say, after just chasing down a bunch of big dust bunnies. Today was cleaning day but what I missed will no doubt multiply.
The poem was actually written as much as ten years ago but has been reworked into its newest form.

Oh yes…the multiplying dust particles and bunnies…This endless thing that one has to do over and over and over for one’s whole life!. (You know Colleen…Here in my house, I can tell how much dirtier Los Angeles has become over the years! Way back when, dusting was minor in the scheme of things…Now, dust seems to appear much quicker than it used to and there is much more of it, too!)
I love this poem, my dear…! Beautifully expressed in every way!

To Plague me…and I saw it as Pledge me! HA! let Pledge do the dusting! (It’s a CFS thing!)

If dust be a milky way, living in a desert is like the entire cosmos.
