They Grow on Trees
Colleen to Katherine, Zephyr Farm neighbor: “Hey, can I bring an apple crisp to Thanksgiving dinner this year? Joe and I have gone apple picking twice this season and we have apples all over the house.”

Love the photo and love apple crisp (apple anything, actually). Maybe I’ll make apple pie for Thanksgiving, but I think they expect the token Southerner to bring pecan.

I just had to buy apples for my Thanksgiving Day pies. You are lucky you can just go and pick them. xo

I wish I could throw a few up. I make an apple crisp every two days. It’s become a staple meal, with a little cheese and crackers.

What a great picture, Colleen! You are so fortunate to have all those apples. We have three pear trees–we would prefer apple–but I just substitute the pears for apples in my apple recipes, and it works quite well! We have a freezer full of pear bread!

Colleen that is such a cute photo idea!
I made an upside down apple caramel cake and I am going to try it again to take to mom’s for our Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. It was really good and not too hard to make. I’ll be happy to send you the recipe. Martin loved it.

The backpack of apples spilled into boxes was close to the pool table in the cellar when this impish idea struck me. I did it as a joke to surprise Joe.
Okay send me the recipe and I’ll see if I can break my apple crisp addiction. I like them because I have it so down and can make one in about five minutes now.
