The 13 Thursday Deal
1. A couple of times this month when I was reading my blog comments I thought that my friend June from Spatter had visited but it was really just the month June recorded with each comment that I was reading.
2. I confess to not understanding Deal or No Deal and not wanting to.
3. I don’t even like the sound of it, but recently before I could get to the TV to shut it off, I noticed this beautiful 13 opportunity.
4. I have two stories in this month’s Natural Awakenings of Southwest Virginia, one on Floydfest and one on a pool player. Click on Monthly Magazines and June HERE for a real page turner. Notice how the pool ball in the second story has a 13 on it.
5. The only pool I’m familiar with is the one full of water.
6. Speaking of water, there’s been talk amongst Facebook friends in this rain drenched area about building an ark, paddling to the mailbox, and growing webbed feet.
7. Line for an imaginary novel that came to me while driving: With lipstick in hand, she shifted into gear and left a cloud of dust behind her.
8. Or maybe my life is being narrated.
9. Some lines come while I’m making comments on other people’s blogs, like this one about seasonal blooms: “The flowers come and go so fast it gives me whiplash.”
10. Every time I drive past the street in Floyd called “Needmore,” I want to name a street “Need Less.”
11. Need less and needless have such different meanings but both make me think of the plural of needle.
12. 13 Thursday is a deal I can’t refuse.
13. Thanks to my favorite bird, the Wood Thrush, THIS is what my yard sounds like all summer.
More playing HERE.

My friend loves “Deal No Deal” too and I’m like you. I just shake my head. Happy TT!

I don’t understand Deal or No Deal either. I think that if you were lucky to have 10 million dollar cases up there and you got down to three cases left and there were still three millions on the board, then obviously they could quit because you win. I think… or maybe not. Usually I find myself thinking… at most game shows… “do those winners know how much they are going to owe in taxes?”

I like the4 way you think 🙂
Happy T13!

Watched ‘Deal or No Deal’ once and decided it was not my idea of entertainment. While reading #10 and #11 I also thought there is needful which means something also different.

Ever wonder if your life is being narrated?
Good list.

I never liked “Deal or no Deal” there really isn’t a challenge or competitive aspect to the show. All it is, is LUCK. Picking cases for money and acting like a freakin’ weirdo in the process.

Great TT. I don’t watch that show either, but then I don’t watch much TV period. I saw your articles in the N.A., I thought they were excellent. I am glad that freelancing is working out for you.

I like the idea of needless as the plural for needles because I hate to sew, lol.
My TT this week is 13 Things I DIDN’T like about “the good old days” – yeah, I know I usually wax so nostalgic about the past but the Times They Are A-changin’ all over!

One of the cool things about being a writer is the excuse to learn new things like pool.

Great Thursday Thirteen, Colleen. The Wood Thrush is my favorite bird, too. I think its song is heartbreakingly beautiful. Unfortunately, we don’t hear them much at our house because we lack the deep woods they love.

I’m so grateful we hear it all summer long. I always feel like I’m in a fairytale when I do.

I too do not understand DEAL OR NO DEAL and find the whole thing incredibly stupid…..But, here I am, too stupid to understand what the hell it is all about! LOL!
Love the recording of the Birds talking in your yard…..!
I often wonder how anyone learns English with all the words that sound alike but mean different things…And the words spelled differently but SOUND alike….OY! What a language. I’m glad I was born here…lol!
