The 13 Thursday Point and Click
1. When it comes to raking my yard, I wish I could just point and click.
2. Times sure have changed. In the past I would have said, “I wish I could twitch like a Bewitched witch and the leaves would be gone.”
3. Last night the bubbles in my New Castle beer made it light up like Las Vegas at night.
4. I think THESE shoes could get Dorothy back home to Kansas, if it doesn’t get too hot and no one gets too hungry.
5. Last week I was with a friend at The Black Water Loft when a different friend at another table asked me how I was doing. I mimed back to him like I was surfing and then followed up with a juggling charade, in other words: ‘I’ve been busy.’
6. Recently a tree climbing instructor who I was interviewing for a story was telling me about the importance of rope and tying knots to the sport. We were looking at book full of knot examples when he said, as if he was about go get a second book, ‘if you’re really interested in knots …’and I said, “No, knot really.”
7. When I finish an interview for a story but can’t write it up right away, I feel like a brooding mother hen with eggs needing to be hatched.
8. I don’t understand the message box that recently came up my computer saying, “hide the kitchen sink.”
9. I do understand a quote I heard on NPR last week: “When I lose my glasses, I look for them on Google.”
10. I think those Old Navy commercials with talking mannequins are spooky.
11. I woke up wondering how much Ted Kennedy talked on his cell phone. Watch THIS.
12. Counter hate groups like THIS.
13. Watch and smile HERE.

I have actually enjoyed my fair share of technical tree climbing. I would Knot have thought it could be so much fun. (sorry I couldn’t resist)
Have a good week

Those shoes are much too nice for Dorothy. She probably wouldn’t notice that Toto was eating them until too late.

Now those are my kind fo shoes – ones I don’t have to try on! LOL

I love the imagery in #3 🙂

There was knot tying lesson in school. I remember only 4 now: bight, slip, square, and sheep shank; recited the tongue twister in #2 to my kid who’s busy with Ultraman 🙂

Love #12. I wish love were everywhere for real and not just something people pay lip service to.
April 8th, 2010 9:06 am
Yep, I’m with you. It would be great if the leaves raked themselves. Happy TT!
April 8th, 2010 9:11 am
I would have loved to been there for #12. It’s always heartwarming to see a community come together for the sake of love.
Thanks for sharing. Happy T13!

You know, I was wondering if anyone else found those mannequins disturbing. Guess they’re cheaper to use than actors.
Have a great day!

I whole-heartedly agree with you on #10. I was shopping at Old Navy the other day and looked at the mannequins and got all creeped out because of the commercial. I kept expecting them to start talking. {shudder}

I don’t understand one thing those tv ad mannequins are talking about. It’s so confusing and weird! On the other hand, I love Target commercials. They are fun to watch.

Love the chocolate shoes. The bubble video is cute!
Thanks for sharing. Happy TT 🙂

Husband is an artist. Imagine having a (very realistic) mannequin residing in your hallway or seeing legs when you open the garage door.

Bryce was a wonderful way to end your list.
#12 was very hopeful.
#11 – what about our fingers?
There are many things I’d like to point and click at.

It’s the brain that is susceptible to the radiation of cell phones. Children can absorb up to 75% of it because their skull etc is still developing.

Like the picture’s trick of making the rake look miniature.
I understand busy. Where does it all come from? Overstocked in busy.
7. Feel the same way, except more constipated when I can’t find time to finish the tiniest small project outstanding.
April 10th, 2010 12:22 am
i always look forward to your TT s 🙂 cuz they are terrific 🙂

Gunn High School is such an inspiration! What happened in Blacksburg when WBC came with their hateful and mean-spirited followers?
April 10th, 2010 8:43 am
The positive counter demonstration it drew was bigger than the WBC group and the tv news coverage on both channels I saw chose not to show the WBC messages of hate and did show those of the counter demonstrators. Here’s a link to some of the coverage: http://www.wdbj7.com/Global/story.asp?S=12279783

I love the photo above on your TT.
It would be so easy to rake that small yard. I love and miss you as always. xox

My yard is 2 acres!
