The Thirteen Thursday Ring Tone
1. Somehow saying “the phone is vibrating off the table,” doesn’t have the same ring as “it’s ringing off the hook.”
2. Afternoon nap: I had a conk but it wasn’t enough, so then I had a zonk.
3. You do the math: Right now I’m 2 pounds over my “accepted weight,” which is different than my “preferred weight” that I’m also 2 pounds over, which is my roundabout way of saying that I’m actually nearly 5 pounds over weight!
4. A poem I wrote in my early 20’s goes like this: I was born in Quincy in 1950 … My Dad was in the Navy and my Mother was pretty … Are you doing the math in your head yet? … Here, want a pencil!? More HERE.
5. Colleen to Mara about the DJ light show dance party at the Chinese Medicine Clinic last weekend: “I’m like the canary on the dance floor. If it’s not danceable, I’m the first to complain or sit down.” (But it was danceable. You can see for yourself (HERE).
6. I recently witnessed a Fireworks display in daytime (as part of a memorial service) and was amazed at how beautiful it was, like 100’s of sparkly diamonds flashing down from the sky with trails of smoke shooting out.
7. Yesterday’s Facebook post: Flowers are so sexy; I’m surprised that right winged conservatives aren’t pushing for them to wear clothes.
8. When does a nuance become a nuisance?
9. Could smash be the mutant plural of mash or shush the plural of hush? Is slather a plural for lather and slight the plural of light?
10. I googled Funny Ring Tone and got THIS.
11. Commuters on Cell Phone Rant: They talk while they walk … They don’t care that their ties choke their necks … So why should they care … that their cell phones cause cancer … Or that they look like boys with pacifiers … Attached by the ear to some substitute mama … Cordless umbilicals to voice mail operators … (excerpt from a poem written while traveling by plane and at the onset of cell phone.)
12. Far away dogs … like an unanswered phone … bark the urgency of the world … More HERE.
13. When a Bluejay calls, you pick up HERE.
Leave a message after the beep at the Thirteen Thursday hub HERE. My other 238 Thirteen Thursday’s are HERE.

I like number 12, and 7 is hilarious! I’ve never thought of fireworks during the day, we have some coming up and I might try it.

You really got that theme thing down once again. I like them all but my fav was the very last. I sit here up early before the sun and it was nice to pretend that morning had started.

Cell phones are the new bane of humanity, I fear. Thankfully I keep mine in the car for emergencies and otherwise seldom use it. Who wants to be tied to that thing?

You really gave me a good chuckle here!! And – what would our world be like without our ever-present cell phones??? Nuance or nuisance? Good question!!!

Funny, #3 to me.

Love number 8, and cell phones have become the bane of society. You can’t go anywhere these days without having someone else’s conversation foisted on you. Personally, while I can see having a cell for emergencies, when I leave the house it’s usually because I don’t want to be found. *g*

Hi. 🙂 I hope all is well with you. 🙂

zonks are good.
hm, I can’t process the concept of a whole human being 2 pounds overweight. or 5 either way. drink a large gatorade or get dehydrated and you’d flux by nearly that much.
cardio and sense of well-being don’t even seem to map up well with any particular weight for me.

Four pounds over my accepted weight (not my envisioned ideal) is hard to carry on my petite frame. I pay attention to it because once the slide up starts, it can continue so easily and because I feel very uncomfortable when I get over 118.

#10 cracks me up……and I love #13 and wish I had a lounge chair right there near the birds. xo
