Another One Bites the Dust
1. Lying on the hammock with my husband Joe, he says to me, “Can you get that “no see um” on my arm?” I answer, “How can I get him when I can’t even see him.”
2. The day after filling a couple of shopping bags and a hiking pack full of apples, I’ve been sorting through them like a kid going through Halloween candy.
3. I think the red delicious are the candy bars of apples.
4. How long do you think THIS game of Scrabble could last?
5. I think impatient Lucy’s got their name because they are impatient for and need a lot of water.
6. When I don’t water my flowers enough, they go through early menopause.
7. ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST is the standard line I usually say after putting the Museletter together (the community newsletter that I’ve helped put out for the past 23 years). But I think it fits here , seeing that I’ve been doing Thirteen Thursday for 5 years and this is # 258. My very first one is HERE.
8. I looked it up. To “bite the dust” is to fall and die, like the loser of a gunfight or a stricken soldier in war, onto the dusty ground.
9. Recently said to the woman collector and performer of Appalachian music who I’m doing a story on for All About Her: So many dynamic women, so little time!
10. Jack Johnson’s music has been playing everywhere I go lately, in the supermarket, the thrift shop, at the pool. I love Jack Johnson and know he’s getting popular but I never expected to see him HERE.
11. I just talked to a dozen people in 5 minutes on Facebook and now I’m afraid they’ll all answer and I’ll never get anything done.
12. Favorite Pandora’s Box image found at google image is HERE.
13. And a wild hair is HERE. Wait for the end. It’s the best part.

I totally agree with you about hand-picked apples in early autumn. So delicious! That is something you can’t do in the lowcountry, and I really miss it.

I want to hear more about the woman from #9.
Never thought of plants that are thirsty as going through menopause.
I’m a green apple gal.

Well, the good thing about plants in early menopause means that with enough water, you can reverse it!

My favorite apple is the Honey Crisp followed closely by Fuji. Chocolate Scrabble is genius!
