Get Down at Dogtown
AKA “Seeing Double”
Chainsaw ale and cheesecake topped with warm peaches was a standout treat, especially because they were enjoyed to the acoustic playing and beat tapping shout-outs of double neck guitarist Mark Kroos. It’s a good thing I sat next to Jon and Katie’s young daughter River who offered me a slice of pizza because the beer on tap hit me like a chainsaw and I didn’t want to fall off my stool. Later, I looked it up on the internet to find out its alcohol content (a reportedly 9%!) and found this fitting description: a connoisseur version of our award-winning Sawtooth Ale, designed to befuddle silly generalizations about life.
Kroos, who is most recently from Williamsburg, was booked as “one of the only touring double neck guitarists in the world.” HERE is a video clip from his highly entertaining performance at Dogtown Roadhouse last Thursday night.

I love how you started off this entry with the word “chainsaw”. I am going to steal this word and use it as my mantra for the coming week. I need something portable, powerful and loud to cut out all of the negativity in my head!
It’s so cool that you got to see one of the only few touring double neck guitarists! Such a remarkable talent!

I like the word chainsaw too, especially next to cheese cake with warmed peaches! A good name for a beer that knocked my socks and cut through any pretence.

Chainsaw and cheesecake do go together well… the richness of the cheesecake would take a chainsaw to a diet for sure!

He is FABULOUS! I love how he straddles both ‘keyboards’ or whatever you call them…..It is pretty amazing how that works! I play a stringed instrument but not one with two necks
What is the usual alcahol content of Beer? I am not sure I have ever known…!
It sounds llke another fun evening, my dear Colleen.

Ha,ha…I love the name and description of the Chainsaw Ale. Glad you got the pizza to mitigate the effects a bit!
An amazing guitarist…I can’t imagine having such co-ordination!
