13: Another Brick in the Wall
1. Friends were surprised last week that I was actually answering my phone and not letting the answering machine pick up as I usually do. I had good reason. My grandson Liam was about to be born.
2. Liam was born the day after (by 42 minutes) my brother Danny’s birthday (Dan died in 2001) and the day before John Lennon’s birthday.
3. I nixed Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall – the obvious soundtrack choice for this entry – for THIS song, which I saw performed live more than once.
4. I don’t know what to say when the NRA calls on the phone for Joe.
5. I have a friend whose parents come from Transylvania.
6. Yesterday Joe called up to the computer room where I was working and said, “Wanna hang with me?” It was an invitation to help him hang the laundry on the line.
7. Overheard on the car ride to Roanoke to meet Liam: The Blue Ridge Parkway in October draws red convertibles the way garbage draws flies in August.
8. Message from Yoko on John Lennon’s birthday HERE.
9. OK Go is the blue man group of music videos. Their youtube Treadmill dance video was my favorite until I saw THIS. And I thought those pink pants were cool!
10. My Asheville potter son Josh is going to build me an outdoor patio with the bricks pictured above. Read how he Gets a Kick out of Bricks HERE.
11. You haven’t lost your smile. It’s right under your nose. I just found it HERE.
12. I’m the kind of person who likes gingerbread more than brownies and documentaries more than biographical movies.
13. I share a birthday with Enya and the Ayatollah Khomeini. Liam shares a birthday with Matt Damon, Chevy Chase, and Jesse Jackson and Bryce shares his with George Lucas and David Byrne. See who you share a birthday with HERE.
More playing 13 Thursday HERE.

My birthday is a national holiday. But I prefer to celebrate anniversaries of my birthday now. Keeps the number lower.

Much as I love gingerbread, I’d rather an ooey gooey brownie any day. *grin*

Lovely list of thoughts and links! I agree with you on documentaries over biographies; but gingerbread over brownies…really? 😉
Happy TT,

I rarely answer the phone in the evening during the week. There is a good chance I don’t feel like talking when I get home form work. Did he really want you to help hang the laundry? That made me laugh. Love the OK Go video. I’m sending the link to my son.
Have a fabulous day!
