13 Thursday Leftovers
1. Last week during Thanksgiving-time every time I tried to type google my hands slipped and it came out gobble.
2. Driving to my brother’s house for Thanksgiving dinner we had to brake for a flock of turkeys crossing the street.
3. When my camera battery is low and blinks I can usually get about 20 more pictures like I get 20 more miles to go when the gas light comes on in my car.
4. I call this picture of my great-nephew a “Joshua app.”
5. Funniest thing my mother, who is recovering from a minor stroke, said this week, “I’m a full-time project.”
6. These days it’s the small things in life that a count: a Sam Adams Winter on tap, feeding the seagulls at sunset, or finding a good movie that my mother and I have never seen just about start on TNT.
7. What to do with that leftover Thanksgiving stuffing HERE.
8. How I got a burned at the beach in November HERE
9. Sometimes my laptop revs up and sounds like an airplane taking off and I get a sense of dread thinking about the plane travel back home.
10. First there was the Tea Party, then the Coffee Party, now there’s the Teapot Party. It was started by Willie Nelson, so you can guess what the platform is.
11. I googled (or gobbled) the word “leftover” and discovered there are two bands with leftover in their names: Leftover Crack (which is like an oxymoron) and Leftover Salmon.
12. I felt really out of the loop and kind of speechless after reading the wikipedia description for Leftover Crack: an American crust punk band formed in 1998, following the breakup of the ska punk band Choking Victim. Primarily playing an amalgam of ska, crust punk, they classify themselves as “crack-rocksteady.”
13. Talk about inventive band names, the band playing at the bar where I had a Sam Adams Winter with my sister and brother-in-law was called Syd Slacks Waist Band. What would your band be named?

WHO wrote the description of that band anyway and really, WHAT does that all mean?????? I guess I am out of touch as well. Though, with the satellite radio and my folks liking the 40’s station, I have discovered some delightful songs from the big band era. It shames me to say I thought they were not “with it” when I was growing up.

Syd Slacks Waist Band? lol!
I would name my band Pink Stucco Motel and we would play the kind of jazz that makes you think “scooby-doo wah wah”. 😉
Great list!
Happy T13 🙂

I’ve oftened wondered what my band name would be and I’m always curious if all the ‘good’ names have been taken. I think I’d wind up taking some random words out of the dictionary and trying to mash them together for that “unique” feel. 😉
Happy TT

I once played in a band called Almost Famous. Which is a long way from something cracked.

The revelation here is: Seagulls don’t just like plain Bread!! They like Bread, in ANY Form. Who Knew???? (lol)
Great T13, as always, dear Colleen. I hope you are surviving the amazing experience of ‘care-giving’. It is hard and sometimes impossible, but truly Awesome, too. It will be something that will comfort you in the years to come. Trust Me.
