I Just Popped in to Say Hello
Stuffy nose. New purple robe. Warm weather repose. I’m planted on the porch like a seed craving sun, with my weekend writings juxtaposed between the very real dangers of uranium mining in Virginia and sustainability through local food movement in Floyd. Joe and Jesse are in the kitchen brainstorming and planning to bring more social, emotional learning and mindfulness to the world. The dog is oblivious and won’t let me cut off the thorny branch hanging from her unruly tail. My eyelashes are dancing rainbows reflected in my teacup. The woodstove’s gone out. Muddy boots are drying out. The mid-morning chatter of birds is an improvement over the chatter of teeth.

I love the imagery of rainbows reflected in your teacup.
A nice purple robe is a wonderful thing.

Ah, well, all considered, a good place to be. Hope you get well soon and the dog lets you get its tail all free.

That was a charming little heat wave we had. I have a stuffy nose and a purple robe, seedlings and dog tail briers too. Tis the mud season.

I have a new purple robe too and I love it. I hope your stuffy nose doesn’t morph into what I’ve had all week. 🙁

I noticed that my clock radio that gives the weather forecast seemed to be continually WRONG. Could not figure out why… until I looked closely and discovered that the preprogrammed button for Roanoke had been pushed instead of Va Beach. No wonder there were two days of little snowflake pictures on there. Still, even with the right button pushed… it is still WRONG 80% of the time.
I see we are in for more temperature swings… right now it is 32 and fog…. tomorrow 70 and thunderstorms and then tomorrow night 33. I would stay inside out of the damp… don’t let that nose turn into something else.
