Wake up and Smell the Coffee and Read the Signs
On Saturday my sister Kathy (pictured in photo 4) attended the Rally to Save the American Dream at the statehouse in Boston, Massachusetts, joining the ranks of citizens around the country who are standing with Wisconsin and other states where Republican governors are continuing to give tax breaks to corporations and the very rich—while cutting funding for education, police, emergency response, and vital human services. These are some of the photos she took. More HERE.

Hi Colleen, Cool. Very cool to see myself on your blog post today.
You selected some great photos to display the spirit of the rally.
It really felt good to stand up for the working class people in WI. If we don’t feel their pain, in the near future we too will lose all that has been gained because of unions.
I’ve a question for everyone who doesn’t share the views of those who are demonstrating?
How is stripping collective bargaining rights a fiscal issue? Doesn’t make sense to me.
Thanks for posting that powerful video too.

While in Florida and listening to their Governor rant about how many of the public benefits would have to be cut including Medicare and Medicaid, I was clearly sad for Florida. It is going to be a nightmare in years to come.

WI Gov came to a State in good shape and gave it away to corporations and the rich thru tax breaks and now wants to break the unions. Nation wide trend. Just watch them. They weren’t broke until he showed up. I worry for my brother and sister still teachers and my Father and his wife as retired teachers.

With you and your sister on this. Thinking of the nightmare in RI, too.
