Shinning Some Light on Thirteen
1. This is my 289th Thirteen Thursday (TT). My first TT was posted on October 2005, five months after I started blogging. The only blog category that comes close to the number of TT posts are my photography posts at 270.
2. Some of the titles of my various Thirteen Thursdays have included: Thirteen Lines Not for Fishing, Gently Down the Stream of Consciousness, Summer Ketchup, Making a List and Checking it Twice, Just My Type, I Can’t Believe I Wrote the Whole Thing, and Write Up My Alley.
3. Over the years, I’ve refereed to my weekly Thirteen list as the sermon, the progress report, the page turner, the ticket, the weekly spin, the reality check, the desk job, the flight plan, the curve ball, the up date, the down hill ride, the blow by blow account, the whole shebang, the knock knock joke, news to muse, the Thursday menu and more.
4. My recent birthday (May 17th) was like a detail in the writing of a story, only mentioned if it was in context and ignored if it didn’t come up.
5. Having a birthday two days after my grandson’s doesn’t give me much time to recover from the inflatable jumping, the Mickey Mouse cake eating, and the general 3-year-old party mayhem. Watch HERE.
6. Nana’s definition of Time-out: You can’t play and I’m not going to talk to you. It can last all of 3 minutes.
7. Believe it or not, one of my favorite gifts, given to me by Joe, is some finger lights shaped like rats (pictured above), advertised as “ideal for night blogging!”
8. Weirdest news story seen on Facebook this week: Fields of watermelons in China exploded because farmers overdosed them with growth hormones.
9. More weird: A human bicycle HERE.
10. Not my blog HERE.
11. A house of cards built on falseness is destined to fall, best not to build it too high.
12. Besides my glow-in-the-dark blogging finger rats, I got a foot rub and an IOU for a chicken coop.
13. I didn’t have my birthday listed on Facedbook but the word got out and I got a lot of Birthday wishes. My favorite on was this: Hippie Bath Day!
More Thirteen Thurday participants are HERE.

I love “Hippie Bath Day.” I once ran across a card, properly illustrated, that said, “Hippo birdie to you.” So, Hippie, I hope you had a happy bird day and a happy bird day.

Oops! I meant: I hope you had a happy bird day and a happy bath day, you hippie, you.

Happy Birthday, Colleen. Sounds like it was a good one, even if you weren’t quite recovered yet from your grandson’s.

You are consistent, organized and are to be congratulated. I am just a little jealous.

Happy Birthday! Thanks for the inspiration to get to my 289th T13.
Can I just say, the exploding watermelon are going to give me nightmares if I see that story again.
Happy TT,

Sorry I missed your birthday. Wishing you a happy belated one. And – so impressive that you’ve been doing this for so long. That alone – is reason to celebrate!

Happy Belated Birthday, Colleen…there seems to be something wrong with my RSS feeds…I’m getting posts several days late!
It’s birthday week at our house this week too…
