Feeling the Love at Floydfest
I watched Eustace Conway put up a teepee in the Global Village in about eight minutes. Conway is a naturalist and primitive living teacher who was the subject of a book by Elizabeth Gilbert before Eat, Pray, Love, called The Last American Man. Watch a video clip HERE.
Sun and fun, sons and a grandson in the Children’s Universe.
My sister Sherry is a flower child at heart.
She had a crush on this band’s lead singer, guy in the middle who we thought looked like John Mellencamp.
And I had a crush on him (front and center). Not really, but I became a little obsessed with photographing him and after that my sister Sherry and her husband Nelson said ‘there’s your boyfriend’ every time we saw him throughout the four day festival.
Baby Liam, meet your great-aunt Sherry, who came all the way from Massachusetts to go to the festival and to meet you.
Bryce enjoyed watching Donna the Buffalo up close with his Opa Joe, who works on festival parking and runs the teen scene at the Imagine Tent. Watch Bryce break out some moves HERE.
This was Sherry’s and my favorite new-to-us musical finds, American Aquarium. Watch a video clip HERE.
I picked up a magazine from a stack in the middle of the table at the VIP tent and said, “they think we’re going to read magazines?’ So look who ended up reading a magazine (story about Steven Tyler).
I was happy to see some Floydian friends passing out educational information about why we need to keep the ban on uranium mining in Virginia. More on that HERE.
I live five minutes away from the festival site so was able to go home and get a good night’s sleep each night, which is why I rarely have Floydfest camping photos. But here’s one of the Festavarian site that I like to check out every year because they always outdo themselves.
Can you feel the love?
