Tea and Poetry Go Together Like Lao Tzu and Rumi
If you are quiet
be loud
If you are loud
be quiet
Don’t laugh
if you don’t get the joke
Don’t cheat
Wear red
If you are generous
be frugal
If you are frugal
be generous
Give away
all your ill fitting clothing
Give up your place in line
It’s okay to ask
for directions
There is no bush to beat around
Fall asleep smiling
Don’t set the alarm
Wake up on the wrong side
of the bed

Such a beautiful and perfect birthday poem.
Tea and poetry are wonderful things – and that cake looks pretty yummy too!

What fun! A very lovely and only slightly ‘mad’ tea party, celebrating the terrible urge to do something totally inappropriate and enjoy it.

I always wake up on the wrong side of the bed, whether she likes it or not 😉
I hope one day that someone will write something like that for me.

I wrote this and posted it in January but thought it went well with the photos and we did read poetry at the tea party and I read this. Also, it’s Open Link at the dVerse pub site.

oh I’ve missed my visits here. this is so Lao Tzu and perfect! and yeah, a bit of Rumi too, but I’m more a fan of the other I guess. I did take a hiatus from blogging but have returned at a dialed back pace. I took so many photos day after day for a year it just seemed wise to do the opposite for awhile and put it all down. it felt good. I’m still exploring with my camera lens, at a more relaxed pace. happy day to you Colleen.

Very LaoTzu and I love the juxtapositions of images and photographs with the words. Struck dumb by “don’t cheat, wear red”. Thank you.
