13: Something Out of Nothing
1. Have you ever fallen asleep at the computer and been saved by the “do you want to save changes” bell?
2. My 3 1/2 year old grandson, Bryce, says, “Spiderman texts people.” Translation: “Spiderman protects people.”
3. Bryce and I wrote THIS song together.
4. Jackson Browne is coming to Floydfest!
5. “If we stay where we are and invest in our own community, the whole world eventually comes to us.” From one of my WVTF radio essays, “Homegrown.” Read it HERE.
6. Do you know which two-letter word in English has more meanings than any other two-letter word? The answer is HERE.
7. When I was researching San Diego for our travels there, we came across a motel whose claim to fame was that they had a “world famous restaurant” inside the building. We ended up eating there and discovered that the restaurant wasn’t necessarily world famous but that the name of the place was “world famous restaurant.”
8. The Pope is like Elvis to some people, as this photo from a room in another restaurant we ate at attests to.
9. I like watching the Academy Awards like other people like to watch the Super Bowl, and I wish they aired it at bars because ever since HD came I only get ABC if the weather is perfectly clear.
10. My son recently turned me on to some funny Bad Lip Reading videos, like THIS one on Rick Santorum.
11. Unfortunately the reality of what comes out of Rick Santorum’s mouth isn’t any better. He has referred to Mormonism to “a dangerous cult,” endorses the profiling of Muslims, says the left “hates Christendom and Western civilization,” thinks doctors who perform abortions should be arrested and regularly makes statements like: “Drill everywhere. There is no such thing as global warming.” ““I have no problem with homosexuality. I have a problem with homosexual acts” and “All the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis, they’re not Palestinians. There is no ‘Palestinian.’”
12. “You can make mistakes, but you are not a failure until you blame others for those mistakes.” -John Wooden
13. “The universe is just a song / Om Mani Hum along.” ~ My dharmacrat friend Will on Facebook.

The more I hear about Rick Santorum, the more he scares me, the more I wonder how he has managed to surge ahead in recent polls. I sometimes have difficulty getting certain TV stations in if the wind is gusting at high speeds. Better a sustained wind at any speed than gusts at any time. Also–I like the quote in number twelve.

Rick Santorum makes me sick to my stomach…What does it say about the people of this country who actually like him??
My Post right now has pictures of “Spiderman”–Bryce might like that…lol…
Oh, Colleen….You need Cable for your TV…Especially right now…! I hope it is clear on Sunday, my dear….
Is that restaurant Buca de Beppo? It’s such a funny place, but the food is very Hearty–well, it used to be—I haven’t been there in many years…
And “UP”…So very inyeresting….Who Knew?
Another great T13, my dear.

I can’t understand how any woman can vote Republican, much less agree with some of these lunatics that are running for office. It is a mindset that is completely foreign to me.

The food was GREAT in both restaurants I mentioned. In the Italian one they served it family style so it was hard to order because Joe can’t eat dairy. So I ordered with that in mind, so it came and DID have dairy in it. They brought Joe some free meatballs and spaghetti and I had more food than I needed which I had to throw away because we were going on a plane the next day.
It is the restaurant you thought it was, Naomi. The place was huge but many rooms, like the Pope room was empty.

#6 made me laugh- I’ll never look at the word “up” in the same way again! hehehe…
Have a great day!

That Pope altar/room is kind of freky. Now that is devotion.

Jackson Browne??? Lucky you. I wonder if the younger generation even knows who he is!
