My Hair is on Fire!
What a surprise it was that Joe and I were crowned King and Queen of the 3rd annual Mardi Gras Costume Ball to benefit Blue Mountain School! From what I can recall Master of Ceremonies Jamie Reygle saying, Joe was honored as a formative past Blue Mountain School teacher and board member and I for my past history as a parent/creative writing teacher and for my coverage of the school on my blog and for the local paper over the years. I was a reluctant Queen, prepared to photograph the crowning for the paper when my name was announced, but I soon embraced the glory and was happy when Joe joined me on stage. Thanks to Katy Roberts for taking this picture (and others) and to Gabriele Hilger for creating our spectacular crowns. I’ll post more photos of the gala after they appear in The Floyd Press this week. In the meantime, you can watch a video of Spoon Fight, one of the bands that played at the ball whose members are Blue Mountain School alumni. I’m really impressed with them and the Sun Hall light show featured in the clip.
