Back to the Thirteen Thursday Drawing Board
1. When it’s Monday morning and my bra is in the kitchen, a dish towel is the bedroom, potatoes are in the living room (waiting to be planted) and my farm eggs are at the Harvest Moon drop off box in town because I forgot to pick them up the day before, you know I had a busy weekend.
2. On the Trayvon Martin killing, I don’t understand why is there is any debate about him wearing a hoodie and none about his killer carrying a gun.
3. When you stretch the truth, watch out for the snapback. ~Bill Copeland
4. On Tuesday I went to the elementary school to document a couple of classes (that incorporate social/emotional learning) that my friend Kari and my husband Joe are teaching. I had two cameras, one in each pocket of my jeans, and felt like a well armed camera slinging cowgirl ready to say “put em up!”!”
5. During the photo shoot my battery and memory card space ran out and I had to quickly reload. The metaphor goes on …
6. I call the above picture of my grandson Liam “Man Doing Taxes.” He’s such a determined little guy!
7. He also yields a big rolling pin. See HERE.
8. Only in Floyd can covering the local news mean documenting a parachute shark game and a puppet that went to Zuccotti Park all in the same weekend.
9. Not to mention a belly dancer HERE.
10. I went to the Harvest Moon health food store to buy my regular algae vegetarian calcium supplement but was told that they can’t keep it in stock because Dr. Oz recently recommended it.
11. Buying shoes from a catalog is a crap shoot, but I’m determined to have one pair that didn’t work out returned and credited to my charge card before I try a new pair, like I wouldn’t start dating a second boyfriend before I broke up with the first.
12. With each emerging daffodil / I mark spring’s growing windfall / Its affluent bloom / and excess of green / are annual assets / we all get to claim. ~ Read the rest of the poem HERE.
13. Liam saying “Nana” HERE.

They might have it in about a week. I wonder if Trish could get it for ma at the health food store in Hanover. It’s called Red Mineral Algae.
Liam is a real star in this week’s TT!
That is wild about Dr. Oz, Naomi!!

2. awesome point. the focus should shift. how did it even get to fashion?

I agree with number two. First, though the Trayvon Martin case is garnering all the attention for “stand your ground” laws, there was a similar incident here in Wisconsin months ago that has received little media attention. A college kid running from an underage drinking party hid on a nearby porch, and was shot & killed by the homeowner. These type of “shoot first, ask later” laws are just plain wrong.
Second, I own five hooded sweatshirts, and wear them all regularly. Since when is this wrong? Since when does it make you a criminal? And if it is raining, as reports indicate it was the night of Martin’s shooting, I would expect anyone with an ounce of sense and a hood to actually wear the hood.

#3 made me think of #1 because of the bra and the snapback. Yikes.

I always love your Thursday lists! And – I too -have the same questions about the Trayvon Martin killing. The world is – sometimes – a senseless place!
