Doggone Bygone
Aka Three’s a Charm
I read some nursery rhymes with Floyd references at the Skit Night fundraiser for Blue Mountain School Sunday night. It was April Fools and the real children I had written the nursery rhymes for were all grown up. The next day I stumbled across one of those rhymes and realized I had left out the last stanza (see below). The second rhyme (posted here) probably had a final verse too, but I have no record of it. The final rhyme was written for my eldest son, a Blue Mountain School alumnus who is more than thirty years old now.

Molly Morgan played the organ
all night at the Pine Tavern
She played the fiddle and the zither
up and down the Little River
She danced a jig in two-step time
all the way to the county line!
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Jade Forrest rode his horse
Up and down the race course
All through Woodsong and Riverflow
Jade and his horse named Porsche would go
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Joshua Johnny loved his mommy
More than apricots and honey
He gave her a hug
He gave her a kiss
He loved her more than licorice
