Fuhgeddaboutit!
Micky G himself, eating lunch with his daughter Saturday, said his t-shirt was a gift from an employee. His and other restaurants in town had an influx of customers who (like us) were unable to cook at home after hurricane-like winds rolled into Floyd Friday night and knocked out power. The winds were unlike any I had witnessed before in Floyd, so strong that my concrete angel got tossed off its birdbath pedestal and our corn was laid down flat.

So sorry! This storm was widespread and moving very fast. Hope your power is back on. Many of my friends to the north are still without and will be without power for days! I remember during hurricane Irene we had to eat at the local pizza parlor and parents brought their kids for dinner and being able to do their homework at the table with light.

No power still. We have one gas burner on our grille that I use for camp cooking and we run the generator 4 hours off and 4 off etc, to protect our frozen venison and other refrigerated food. Believe it or not I have never had Michael’s pizza because he is such an amazing chef of Italian food, I usually go for the entrees.

I don’t believe there has ever been such a storm in our area, Colleen. Certainly not in my memory.
Be safe and try to stay out of the heat.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in winds above 50 mph, and those were pretty scary.
Thinking of you, your angel, your corn and.. sending much love and well wishes for all to be peaceful and the power on for all again.
