When the Country Club Was a Farm
There’s a silo overlooking the pool at Great Oaks Country Club.
This is the way the pool looked when I got there on Wednesday for the 3:30 adult swim.
And this is the way it looked 20 minutes later, after a roar of thunder and the sound of a lifeguard’s whistle blowing. “Now I know how the kids felt,” I said to another swimmer. These days it’s hard to get an afternoon swim in without a storm cutting it short.

I love anything farm, especially silo’s. I think it would be cool to have one overlooking the pool. The roar of thunder is my que to get the camera to get some lightning photos.

Yep – I heard that thunder yesterday – and supposed to be more on the way today.
Summer storms sure make for some great photo ops!!

Well, it is good that you are getting rain. So very many places are not. Wonderful pictures, my dear. And thank you and Joe for the very sweet card, Colleen. It came late yesterday and was a really nice pick-me-up.

That’s the way it goes! Like the Texas and Minnesota game when the thunder clap cleared the field!
