When Getting Your Feet Wet Is Not Metaphor
I found out this morning while walking the beach that my boots aren’t waterproof. It happened when I was framing a picture of some gulls in flight and wasn’t looking down at my feet or noticing the pattern of waves coming closer to the shore. I did notice that there are always joggers, dog walkers, shell collectors and people with geiger counters on the beach, whatever the time of year, and that surfers in the water from a distance look like sharks.

A rather unpleasant surprise to fin unwanted wet feet! But your photo has a wonderful moody atmosphere!

If I wasn’t 1200 miles away from the ocean I would be one of those kind of persons walking on a rocky beach in Nova Scotia if everything comes together someday it will be.

Oh, Nantasket,
How the memories toll,
Like 10,000 snapshots,
In a single roll!

Lovely poem. Yuck on getting wet feet, especially if the water’s cold, it just makes it feel even worse.
