The 13 Thursday Moves (aka Pink Floyd)
1. My sister Sherry is a Grammy winner. She just became a grammy for the second time and has a beautiful new granddaughter named Chole.
2. My Grammy highlights were that I got to watch. After years (since HD) of having only one network channel, I fooled around with the menu settings and the antennae and now have all three, plus more!
3. We have our own glamor and glitz in Floyd. I’m talking about the annual Mardi Gras Costume Ball, (where the above photo was taken). There were wigs that lit up, glowing fairy wings and plenty of face paint, feathers and beads. More photos coming …
4. I was working on a newspaper deadline and getting ready to go down the mountain at dawn to baby sit my grandsons, so I missed a lot of the Grammys. I did notice that Chris Brown’s neck looked dirty (with tattoos), and I paid special attention to the Lumineers performance since they’re coming to Floydfest this year.
5. Seeing that the Last Bison will be playing at Floydfest made me wonder why Donna the Buffalo isn’t on the bill?
6. One day I cry my eyes out the next I laugh my head off. It’s surprising I’m still in one piece.
7. My four-year-old grandson Bryce has been teaching me how to walk like a zombie.
8. Last year we watched the Grammys from a hostel in Santa Monica, after driving to Hollywood the day before to visit blogger Naomi. On the way to Naomi’s we passed the hotel where Whitney Houston died. We didn’t know for sure but wondered when we saw a small group of people mulling about out front. After we confirmed it was indeed the hotel, we were sorry we hadn’t pulled over. It would have made a timely blog post.
9. Blogging: the equivalent of writing in the sandy margin of the sea? ~ A paraphrase via local blogger, David St. Lawrence.
10. The post office isn’t broke. It’s being robbed by Republicans intent on killing a government service for the sake of proving that government can’t work. See more HERE.
11. I love the word gaze, to look steadily, intently, and with fixed attention, but how easily it can become glazed, as in “her gazing eyes glazed over from boredom.”
12. Like a person who stutters doesn’t stutter when they sing, I am certifiably clumsy unless I’m dancing.
13. “Don’t feel bad if you don’t win. I never won this and I have my own eyelash line.” ~ Katy Perry at the Grammys this year.

I never fail to look forward to how you can weave a web from 13 items. Then, like the spider, you dance across in your feathery way. I have a future daughter-in-law with two Emmys…nice to be close to talent.

Chuck’d full this was. I clicked on every link. Tears to laughter, to a trip to Hollywood. Thank you.

I’m happy for you that you got to watch the Grammy’s….And that you have found some other channels , too!
It’s hard to believe it is a year since you were here in L.A. And hard to believe that it is a year since Whitney Houston died…..Life….you never know what will happen in the next minute……
i think laughing and crying are very close together…..And that you can do both so freely is why you are still standing, my dear….
BTW: I did what you suggested and it worked! You are once again current in my Google thingy…..HOORAY!!

I would have liked to sit in on the zombie walking lesson! 🙂

Apparently, I walk like a zombie; no lessons required.

Number 6: Isn’t that the very definition of life? And isn’t that why it’s beautiful?
As to number 10: I believe you’ve hit the nail on the head. As usual.

The Post Office has worked for 100s of years. Government does work, but not when idiots are in charge.

With all due respect, Colleen, have you read David’s blog…? I’d never quote him let alone send readers his way. I was a reader when he blogged relevantly re: Floyd but he’s gone way over to the dark side.

I haven’t read David’s blog much in the last couple of years and don’t agree with his politics. I just liked the blogging quote.

I was disappointed to not have seen more of Dr. John and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band on the grammys…loved the feathers he was wearing!

Whitney Houston died? Huh. Being timely all depends on who you talk to.

Great TT! Yes, I love being a Grammy winner!

I’m a clumsy dancer too, so I’m right there with you on that. LOL. Have a great weekend!

For real Grammy? Wow! So cool.

OMG, I can comment on your blog again! Wonderful. It’s been so long since I was able to see my comments actually post. Now that I know I’m not just whistling in the wind, I’ll be back!

Great to hear from you again, Alice!
