I should give credit for the cup to Melissa Weiss, a member of Clayspace, the potters co-op my son Josh founded in Asheville. She was also a 16 Hands guest artist at our house one year. http://looseleafnotes.com/2011/11/black-friday-at-my-house/

I love tea with wholehearted abandon, so I’m sure this contributed to my appreciation for this piece… but I think, regardless, it would have touched my spirit with its simple beauty. The serene, spare images were the perfect evocation of the subject matter. Bare, ephemeral, barely there, like the scent of flowers whispered on a cool spring breeze.
Now I want a pot of tea π

There’s nothing can beat a good cup of tea for a bit of cheer. I like your haiku.

Very Japanese atmosphere in this haiku (save for the preference for Darjeeling). The picture complements your poem perfectly.
