My Place or Yours?
I told my Scrabble playing friends (pictured above) that I was going to post this photo and caption it “Scrabble Players Wanted.” In the past couple of years, we (about six formerly regular players) haven’t played much, but we’ve been talking about getting our monthly games going again and rotating the meet-ups at different homes and locations. This game, hosted at Chelsea’s house, was a great start. It was also the reunion of “Two C’s and a V,” the name we – Chelsea (left), Colleen (me) and Virginia (right) – took at the 2008 Scrabble Tournament at the Jefferson Center to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Roanoke, which we won!
Even though I hadn’t played in a while, the luck of the draw was in my favor. I started the game with a Scrabble Bingo, a 7 letter word that brought a bonus 50 points. Can you find it, and the second one that came later? Read more about our big Literacy Volunteer game win HERE.

Scrabble is my favorite game. If I lived nearby, I would take you up on the invite. 🙂 I hope you get a group going regularly.

Does Mara still play?/

Someday I’ll play with you!! Do you play on-line?

I don’t play online because the whole idea of the old fashioned games are to get me off the computer and with real people!

PS oh, yes Mara still plays but we haven’t played together in nearly a year. Soon!

I so miss having a regular Scrabble partner to challenge. Words with Friends is okay, but it sure isn’t the same as a good old face-to-face game. And there is nothing like the feel of a Scrabble tile turning over in your fingers while potential words turn over in your mind!

Colleen, we met last night (3 1/2 years after this most recent SCRABBLE category post in your blog)…not even sure you will see this, as I’m a blog comment newbie!!
I love the game and my husband tolerates the very few times we play each year – but, if I had a group game outlet (or inlet, if you rotate homes), it would prevent him from mandatory compromise in this arena, you know.
I have an older deluxe board and a friend who may also be interested.

Hi Paige, email me at credman@swva.net so we can exchange info and I can put you on the list of interested Scrabble players. Do you live in Floyd? We are currently working on a time to play at the Blackwater Loft.
