Pot of Gold
Sun kissed lip
curved at the hip
a full bodied cup
of Camellia Sinensis
Unfurled leaves
waft waves of flavor
Holding tight to cup handles
tea lovers swoon
Porcelain pots simmer
in a Victorian tea parlor
Readers see the future
in lingering loose leaves
Haiku with high tea
Best to sip slowly
Don’t brew the oolong
too long

What a fun tea party you are having!!

I actually went over to Katherine’s to pick up some oat straw I was out of for an infusion and was left alone with her teapots. This is what resulted. But we have had many a grand tea party with her as host!
My favorite tea of late is lichee congou, which she turned me on to. It’s going to need a poem of its own.

Lovely Poem, and Lovely Pictures, too!
I love the shape and color of that Teapot!
I’m not familiar with that tea you mentioned….So many teas—it’s kind of amazing!

There is something so elegant about the whole thing – the pots, the teas, the company. Nice.

Colleen: What a treat for an old English teacher to find your blog today. I loved reading your bio and learning about all the wonderful things you have done with your life. Not only are you a accomplished writer, you are a wonderful photographer. I just retired from teaching after 54 years on Wednesday…a sad moment, but I had to do it…doctor’s orders. Now, I can focus on my art, wiritng, and photography. I adore writing, love photography, and hope to meet you one of these days. We live in Lexington, and there are a number of us in this vicinity who need to get together this summer in a central location to meet and exchange stories. It would be such fun. Please stop by the blog when you have time. genie

The teapots are so beautiful, a classic bit of art that we can look at and enjoy while sipping a fine cup of tea. The opposite of the giant cups of coffee that are poured from a giant pot with no appreciation of the finer and more sensual making of the tea. A bit of work in prepping makes for a more satisfying drink…

Whatever you used this little pot far, it would be great. However, filled with a pot of gold could not be beat.

Colleen..Thanks for the info about going to my blog. Oddly, that just happened to me a couple of days ago when I was attempting to comment on a blog which I visit frequently. When I clicked to the thumbnail I ended up at a place like where you were directed filled with garble. I immediately got out of it, tried again, and that time all was fine. I left info in my comment about what happened, but I have not heard back from him. This is so freaky and scary. I really do not know what to do. It is odd that I had the experience and then when you tried to reach me you had the same or a similar experience. Do you have any ideas on what we might do? Again, thanks so much for letting me know. genie

OH, My Golly, Miss Molly! An old English teacher that cannot even type or at least proof type correctly. My computer whiz/program writer son and I have been trying all day to figure it out. Give your friend a big thumbs up from the both of us. Now we can forge ahead without fear. Happy Sunday. genie
