13: Mooney Moon
1. For the last few days all I’ve been doing is eating, napping and taking pictures of the moon while on vacation at Bethany Beach, where we’ve been making pilgrimages by bicycle to the moon over the ocean every night.
2. It’s appropriate that I’m at a Mooney reunion here (Joe’s mom’s clan) at the same time of the super full moon, closest to the earth, making it appear 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter.
3. “Nature’s micro-abrasion is great but after awhile it’s just sand in my beer.” ~ Joe’s cousin at the beach.
4. I once knew a woman named Lemon who changed her name to Lemoon after I mentioned that adding one more o to her name would make moon.
5. Years ago my Dharmacratic friend Will pointed out to that months should be called moonths, since calendar months are based on the moon cycles.
6. Poetry: “overhearing things you say to yourself that you didn’t know you knew.” – David Whyte, the poet whose CD’s we listened to on the 8 hour ride to the Bethany Beach.
7. Talking about the many distractions of modern life, Whyte refers to email, texting and Facebook as “promiscuous forms of communication.”
8. I had some fatigue this week, which made me head for a bed, a couch, or a soft spot of sand, and to think to myself: I’m prone to being prone.
9. Joe and I got married during a blue moon in June and I danced with my father at the reception to … you guessed it THIS.
10. THIS was the song Joe and I danced to.
11. Some of my Moondala ooh la la super moon pictures are HERE.
12. Mmmmoon: Turned on / Moon light / Moondala / Ooh la la / Celestial body / Lush lighted night / I can’t take my eyes off her – poem written sometime in the early 90’s
13. Paint a mandala with your mouse HERE.

You lucky schmuck, getting to see the big moon. The clouds rolled in around here a few nights ago and it’s been overcast ever since.

The moon has been really pretty down this end of the world too. I like the song Blue Moon 🙂

Dave took a similar pic of me at Salisbury the night after the BIG HUGE MOON…but…sigh, the cloud cover hid the moon (but not me!).

nod, prone to being prone.
“promiscuous forms of communication.” that’s an interesting frame. would people who are non-talk chatterboxes qualify too? what if you write many paper letters? or to many people but few?
