Two Weddings and a Beatles Song
Aka: Just an average day in Floyd
I stopped on my way to town when I noticed a bride in road. It reminded me of the time when Joe and I were in Ireland and we stopped at a pub where a wedding party was taking place because I wanted to see the Irish version, or the time I saw a barefoot bride on the beach, or when my friend Amy (see HERE) stopped in the road, pulled out her banjo and began to play.
I soon realized that a photo shoot was about to happen when I saw Chelsa Yoder, a local professional photographer who I met taking pictures at Floydfest last year. I complimented her boots and she explained what it was like to work in the field. As I drove away, I shouted to the bridesmaids, ‘why don’t we do it in the road,’ but, maybe because they were so young, I don’t think they caught the Beatles reference.
I was on my way to the first Floyd Pride Parade and celebration of the overturning of the Defense of Marriage Act, where another marriage scene also caught my attention.
More on that later in the week. Meanwhile, I have been working all weekend supporting an individual with disabilities while his foster care providers were out of town at a … you guessed it … a wedding, so maybe that title should read Three Weddings and a Beatles Song.

It’s that time of year, and now with the Ban on Gay marriage being lifted—Hundreds and maybe even thousands have been getting married since Friday…..I think it is FANTASTIC!!!!

I’m beginning to think, that all you have to do in Floyd -is stand in one place and wait, as something interesting will bound to happen. Probably sooner, than later.
