Summer Slug
My ambition rises
in a sluggish summer day
to the number of squash bugs
in my garden
Death by squish
is not for the squeamish
I’m the mother of butternut
Out of my way!

Love the “SQUASH”, the “SQUISH” and the “SQUEAMISH”….I really love what you do with words, my dear, and your deep understanding of what words can do and say….!

Fabulous alliteration on “sq” and loads of fun too – although I don’t have to worry about protecting the crops in my garden; there aren’t any … smiles.

I love it! My personal war is against earwigs…not too many slugs in the high desert but my Mom lives at the beach and when she was able she loved to get those snails!
