Fire Dance
Gyroscopic fire dancers Emily Williamson and Barb Gillespie performed at intermission at the 5th annual Floyd Family dysFUNctional Picnic, founded by the late Tom Ryan and in honor of him this year.
Held at the Pine Tavern, the picnic featured catered food and Republic of Floyd (also founded by Tom) merchandise for sale, including Tom’s book. The Floyd Dysfunctional Family Cookbook.
Featured bands were Tell Jenny and Sound Wave, which was headed up by a friend that Tom went to school with.
We missed Tell Jenny but danced to the 80’s sounds of Sound Wave, Chrissie Hynde, Tom Petty, Bob Seger covers and more.
Attendees who wore a Hawaiian shirt (Tom’s trademark) got a break in price at the door. Read more about Tom, who died of a heart attack in January, HERE.

dysFUNctional family picnic probably explains why i identify with your reports of Floyd….as I tend to describe myself at times as a ‘conforming non-conformist’. Looks like things are a sizzling still in Floyd, as expected. Thanks for the share as always.

Great shots! The video is good too and felt like I was there while watching it.
