Floyd Style
In the best Floyd tradition, we filled the dance floor at Dogtown Roadhouse last night, dancing to Floyd’s Time is Art.
Even Ed Cohn (far left), the farmer/musician who the dance party fundraiser was for, spun with the best of them. Ed is moving to Portland and was recently robbed of the money he saved for the move. Donations for him were taken at the door.
After Time is Art, an all-star Floyd jam took place with Floyd with musicians taking turns at the mics. We even heard some opera from Ed, a song from one of his young students and enjoyed a special appearance from a blues jazz singer from Stuart.
While in Floyd Ed founded a seed saving group, performed music, participated in fundraisers and assisted with sound systems for the performances of others. I wrote about him HERE and HERE.
Read more about Time is Art, who will be back at Dogtown on Friday, September 13 at 8 p.m., HERE.

How sad that Ed had his money stolen and how nice that there was a fund-raiser for him.

I’m sorry to learn that Ed is leaving – he contributed a great deal to the arts community. Floyd’s loss is Portland’s gain, though – there’s quite a scene out there, I understand.
