Write at Your Own Risk
Poetry comes with a warning
You need a knife to open its lid
It has a short shelf life
and list of ingredients
I don’t know how to pronounce
Poetry is best taken daily
and shouldn’t be stopped abruptly
It shouldn’t be written
while using heavy equipment
It takes eight hours to sleep it off

“It shouldn’t written
while using heavy equipment”. I must remember that one. Although, I do pull off the road. I would hate to be my boss, so much stopping work to jot something.

Yup to all the above–funny–but I write best when I toss my to-do list and not worry so much about what I have failed to get done–but when I am on top of things-like I am right now–I get stuck–I need some air
