Poem Making
Like cracking the husk
of a black walnut
to get to the meat
Food for the winter
with the edge of a hammer
I’m stained with poem making
I’m hungry for more

Stunning again! I love the way you paint pictures and feelings with words. You must be having some lovey if very cold weather now. We have gotten about a cup of snow this month.

Thanks, Tabor! Last week’s poem was new but this one was written in the mid/late 90’s. We’ve only gotten about a cup of snow here too and some brief ice. Just add some Kahlua and we’re all set. Cheers!

“…stained with poem making…” I love it, CR.
Only half a foot of snow here; but right around 30 below two nights in a row!
