Lunar Libation
Melting slice
of moon ice
Poured cocktail
spilling light
Big dipper of stars
toasts the night life
The moon
is tipsy tonight

This is uncanny. Last nights’ moon just past dusk, hung low an enormous just above the eastern horizon. Red-ish orange glow, a bright red nose, I remember thinking ‘he looked a little pie-eyed or the rosy colour could be from being outside in -30C. As my cheeks an nose were equally red.
Given the winter, who could blame the moon. Probably in another couple weeks or so, I be more than happy to do Tequila shots with the Sun and the Moon.

This was written recently on a cold night when the moon was halved, white and wobbly looking. I saw that reddish moon too. That moon needs a different poem!

An amazing moon last night indeed, as we drove home from dinner at My Beloved Sandra’s daughter’s home. Big ol’ orange beachball on the horizon, just rising out of the sea of snow. Spectacular!

Nice! Poured cocktail spilling ice, this gives me a new way to look at the moon.

Just delightful. So admire your words, Colleen.

Huh. I wonder if the moon is often toasting me when it’s full. Seems I get the most done and inspiration is really heavy on full moon nights.

ha. of course it is…and it is sharing its drink with me most nights as well….smiles…lovely.

Such fluid composition. These words seemed to be poured into a comfortable place, easily read out loud. I loved this.

I like this phase of the moon ~ Short & snappy verses, I like ~

Very clever, Colleen. Picturing a tipsy moon made me smile tonight. In this snowy / cold winter, I am somehow sure that the moon has a lot of company. Smiles.

Its been said we “drink in the moonlight” and yes, at times, viewing it makes us “tipsy” too! Nicely captured!
