About Elaine Stritch—this became one of her signiture songs, from Sondheim’s “COMPANY”, in which she appeared and sang this song……That’s where I got the idea for my “Ladies Who Lunch”, though none of my “ladies” fit the profile of that song, at all…..Stritch was a fantastic performer! You can rent ELAINE STRITCH: AT LIBERTY, which is a wonderful look at the woman, the performer and her uniqueness……Another loss of someone that was part of a GREAT Broadway tradition and the end of an era of the Golden Age Of Broadway…..there is a more recent Documentary that’s quite wonderful, too, filmed in 2013 called ELAINE STRITCH: JUST SHOOT ME! But, if you do get these, do watch ‘AT LIBERTY’ first…..Thanks for thinking of me, dear Colleen….
I LOVE these stark pictures of yours….there is a sadness to them that touches the heart.
