13: Dude!
1. I couldn’t keep a straight face, and neither could the librarian, when I called the local library and asked them to reserve a book series with titles: Crabby Crab, Cowy Cow, Doggy Dog and Clammy Clam.
2. When my grandson Bryce got off the school bus when I was babysitting last week, I gave him a hug and said, “Brycey Bryce!” He knew just what I meant.
3. We have already read Lamby Lamb, Moosey Moose, Whaley Whale and Buggy Bug.
4. When I’m taking a series of pictures and finally get one a good one, I like to say, “That’s the album cover.” HERE is the latest.
5. Monday was an eight egg day, which is kind of like a perfect ten, since we only have eight hens.
6. First day of spring Facebook update written by a friend from Boston: It should not be snowing.
7. There was a Sweet Melissa in the crowd and someone called out “Play Freebird” (wrong song but right spirit). Michael, who looks a lot like his Rock and Roll Hall of Famed dad, Gregg, and sounds like him too, jumped off the stage and came into the audience to dance and sing amongst us. – More on the Michael Allman Band at Dogtown Roadhouse HERE.
8. When Gloria Steinem was asked what woman’s face she would put on a paper bill she expressed her mixed feelings about whether or not it would be an honor to be on money. “For a while I thought we should just put the Koch brothers on and be done with it,” she was quoted as saying in a story called, A Woman’s Place is on the $20 Bill. The candidates in this movement can be voted on HERE.
9. I feel like Cinderella trying to get this Thirteen Thursday list done by midnight because if I don’t, Thursday will turn into Friday and I might be missing a shoe.
10. I always put my smart phone on speaker because I don’t like holding it to my ear. The problem is, at some point when I’m talking into it, my nose turns it off by mistake. My son Josh tells me that I’m not the only one who disconnects phone calls with their face. “People your age do it,” he said.
11. It’s a practice, and over the years (487 times in 10 years), I’ve refereed to my weekly Thirteen list as the sermon, the progress report, the page turner, the ticket, the weekly spin, the reality check, the desk job, the flight plan, the curve ball, the up date, the down hill ride, the blow by blow account, the whole shebang, the knock knock joke, news to muse, the Thursday menu and more.
12. Dude is an old term, recognized by multiple generations although potentially with slightly different meanings. From the 1870s to the 1960s, dude primarily meant a person who dressed in an extremely fashion-forward manner (a dandy) or a citified person who was visiting a rural location but stuck out (a city slicker). In the 1960s, dude evolved to mean any male person, a meaning that slipped into mainstream American slang in the 1970s. Current slang retains at least some use of all three of these common meanings. The word may have derived from the Scottish term for clothes, duddies. – Wikipedia

I’m trying not to laugh at number 8 as the Koch brothers and their ilk scare me. They’ve bought too many crooked politicians, including our state governor. Can’t say I’ve heard of this book series of yours, but thanks for thinking of me — and for visiting my garden tour. ☺

RE #9: I have the same issue & all too often remain uninspired until it’s too late & end up either posting nothing or posting crap.
YOUR 13s, CR, always enthrall.

I love those alliterative titles and they surely resound with youngsters and are so fun to recall
Boston friends had such a difficult season in many ways. I wonder if summer will be good to them .They all seem so relieved.

your 13s make me smile, I am so glad you made the deadline and didn’t lose a shoe. I love the way your 13s have changed a little since your becoming a grandmother, isn’t it grand?!

It’s been like a second childhood for me!
I can’t thumb text either. I’m all thumbs, as they say.

I like that photo. That bunny is a cool dude! Love your TT, as always. (I think Susan B. Anthony should be on the $20 bill.)
