13: Sweet Nothings
1. Does Donald Trump think the whole world is a reality show for ratings?
2. A Facebook friend recently posted a picture of a deer with the caption “2 buck in the parking lot,” to which I commented, “Do you have change for a 20?”
3. The city of Melbourne assigned trees email addresses so citizens could report problems. Instead, people wrote thousands of love letters to their favorite trees, like this one: ““Dear 1037148, You deserve to be known by more than a number. I love you. Always and forever.”
4. Scientists have discovered that living near trees is good for your health, citing air quality improvement, the stress reduction that comes from being around greenery — a mental effect that translates into physical benefits — and the possibility that being around trees somehow increases one’s propensity to exercise. Read more HERE.
5. “I don’t think anything should cost anything.” – 7-year-old Bryce on people having to buy land, resources and toys!
6. “Dear landlord, please don’t dismiss my case. I’m not about to argue. I’m not about to move to no other place. Now, each of us has his own special gift and you know this was meant to be true and if you don’t underestimate me I won’t underestimate you.” – Bob Dylan
7. I recently ordered some of my pictures online from Walmart. When the package was delivered, I ripped it opened to see how they turned out, but I didn’t recognize anything or anybody. I had a Twilight Zone moment before I realized that I had actually received someone else’s mail.
8. I call the photo on the right “Someone Else’s Selfie.”
9. I have to admit that I’ve arranged a camera shot to avoid the confederate flag more than once.
10. Always the poet, when Joe calls me sweetie, I call him tweetie. When he calls me lovey, I call him dovey.
11. “I see songs as little stories that fall out of our lives and imaginations. If I have to struggle to write a song, I stop before I start. I figure if it don’t flow easy, it’s not meant to be.” – From It’s a Long Story by Willie Nelson
12. According to psychologists, coloring is the best alternative to meditation. You can print out free coloring mandalas HERE.
13. See the blog photos that caused me to comment, “Some junk. Some art. Sometimes hard to tell the difference. And sometime art is made with junk” HERE.

this is wonderful. Found myself laughing over that strange selfie photo, and nodding in agreement over 11 and 12…
I found that the coloring book sites sometimes limit you to the number of prints you can make, and a LOT of the coloring books on sale are mostly all colored for you, all you do is fill-in the white spaces. Rip off time.
But, yeah, they are cool. I have a folder of them on the kitchen table right now, next to my coloring pens. =)

I like someone else’s selfie! Also I like the bit about coloring. I’ve always been a fan of crayons and coloring. Great post as usual. Thanks.

Bryce may be on to something great! Love #3. We have a few trees right here on our property I can whisper sweet nothings to any time of day or night. It was love at first sight. #11 is my guy! <3
Great 13, Colleen, as usual.

#’s 3 and 4 made me think of this quote:
“To be poor and be without trees, is to be the most starved human being in the world. To be poor and have trees, is to be completely rich in ways that money can never buy.” – Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Seven and eight could be the beginning of a short poem or a long novel. What fun that photo is! Another excellent 13 and I will keep working on mine.

Loved your list! I like to color, and it does seem to be a sort of meditation. I should do it more.
