13: The Write Stuff
1. Liam (4): I got two hearts. I have a heart from nana and a heart from hopa. I have a daddy heart and a mommy heart cause she born me. When I’m happy my heart gets bigger.
2. It’s interesting to me that the letter K looks like a boot and that the word KICK begins and ends with one.
3. Said to myself while recently labeling some photographs with double K’s: The KKK has given the letter K a bad name.
4. The Gaelic alphabet doesn’t have a letter K, only a C. It seems redundant that our alphabet has three letters that make the same sound, C, K and Q, and that some words – like black, shock, brick and clock – use both the C and K to say what either letter alone could do.
5. See the post in which it rains apples like cats and dogs, where Liam says, “Run Bryce” and we sing “We got two cows and they’re chasing us now” HERE.
6. When my son Josh was little he thought cats were girls and dogs were boys. According to Liam, the white pumpkins I grew are girls and the orange ones are boys. Listen HERE.
7. Seen on Facebook: I think that you should be able to like people’s likes on Facebook, and they should be able to like that you like their like, and so forth.
8. What would the Buddha say? Facebook is about to bring online social interaction down to a like or dislike button?
9. Said while recently while eating my first lobster roll in Massachusetts: Personally, I think lobster and yoga are overrated. I’d rather eat fish and go dancing.
10. It makes sense that the word revved has two v’s in it.
11. I hear voices: The muse brings vital inspiration that renews me, but it isn’t normally a part of my daily conversation like the weather. As sustaining as it is, I don’t budget it in like my food bill. I don’t buy it flowers often enough.
12. A phrase or line may never be as pure as when it first comes to you (even if it needs editing).
13: Liam: Bryce, do you know that girls are smarter? Bryce: Yeah. Me: How do you know girls are smarter? Liam: Cause I’m smart.

K isn’t a letter I generally pay a lot of attention to. I blame the KKK. It makes me flinch.

I like the fun in profundity! I kept a book of my son’s insightful and funny quotes but only have a collection of scraps of papers with scribbles on them so far for Bryce and Liam.

You and your grandsons are so creative and well, inspiring. I love Liam’s idea about multiple hearts. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Number twelve is so true.

My muse works best when I fed her frequently and I am feeling well. If both aren’t in sync, my muse gets very droopy. Thanks for doing the TT this week

Number Twelve. I am so looking forward to the day; when I think it, and it appears simultaneously in the e-clouds or on my desktop. And not related, I am also looking forward to the day, when a very special superhero women solves all the world’s woe and brings us PEACE through knitting. I had the entire futuristic scenario worked out in head, but of course I have since forgotten it.
Number Thirteen, for its elastic intelligence. It stretches way out there, but snaps back from where it came.
