1. When does collecting become hoarding?

2. The spread of red is more of a creep and the glimmer of gold just a glimpse, but the sunset in October is like spilling a bucket of paint that washes over everything.  See it HERE.

3. I used to see my chicken’s hen house infighting like West Side Story’s Jets vs. Sharks, but now I see it more like Orange is the New Black, the Netflix series about women in prison.

4. We have one light colored Buff Orpington chicken that I call Chapman, after the upper middle class character that the series is based on.  – More from Chick Cliques HERE.

5. I collect photos and thrift shop clothes. They both take hours of time to process and manage, and, as far as the clothes go, the irony is that the more I acquire, the less places I go to wear them.

6. Funny to use the word iron-y and clothes in the same sentence.

7. A Facebook friend recently asked the Floyd Group, “Do you feel isolated in Floyd?  If so why and if not, why not?”  I answered:  I sometimes feel isolated but it’s more brain chemistry than geography. I have high requirements for solitude, but sometimes feel like I can’t get enough because, like sugar, it isn’t always what I really need. I think of my introversion like making yogurt. I can use the same culture over and over, but sometimes I have to go out and get new culture and that renews me.

8. The line “Teacher, leave those kids alone” from Pink Floyd’s Brick in the Wall takes on even more relevance as I’m reading Magical Parent Magical Child.  Here’s a clip from the introduction about Ashley Monague’s book The Dehumanization of Man and Growing Young:  The Dehumanization of Man occurs when cultural conditioning becomes dogma, when belonging to the group demands blind conformity, when behavior becomes mechanical, reflexive.  David Bohm, one of the most renowned physicists of the 20th century, observed that there is no intelligence in a reflex.   Growing Young takes place when the characteristics Ashley called ‘the genius of childhood,’ or the intelligence of play, open-mindedness, flexibility, willingness to try new things, humor, trust, complete attention, affection and other childlike qualities are carried forth into adulthood and throughout life.

9. I’ve come to the conclusion that health care insurance companies are like the mafia who, along with hospitals, are not held accountable for wild price disparities and inflated mark-ups,  which are a form of robbery.  When Oabamacare first became law, our insurance company doubled or tripled deductibles and premiums, which cancelled out any government credit savings that we got.  Now, a year later, our premium has doubled again with no improvement on the product or reason for the gauging hike, which is why I am still for a health care Public Option, which Obama wanted but couldn’t get past the Republicans.

10. The National Geographic being sold to Fox News is like an oxymoron, like Willie Nelson cutting off his braid and voting for Donald Trump.
