so sad, I know that the numbers of monarchs has been going down for some time, just like the bee population.

Sorry the only one you saw was dead. You captured it beuatifully though.
In my photo, the candles to the right are not a reflection. That is part of the lights lit to honor those who have died and there is a special prayer called Yizkor-prayer for remembrance of those who have died.

Or it could be the menorah that is on the floor by the wall or the other lights that are seen at the top of the arch is another lantern like the ones featured in the main row.
I had to comment again because as I looked at the picture, I wanted to make sure I covered all the lights to the right :).

This is a beautiful winged wonder. Graceful and colorful, we love their style and brilliant hues. A loss, these are the prettiest avians I see all summer…

How tragic to come across this-the only sighting you’ve had too at that. Still very beautiful even in death.
