Stopping Traffic
Yes, there were traffic jams with clowns in downtown Floyd for the 2015 Christmas Parade.
There were also horses and tractors stopping traffic
and dancing in the street.
The horses with riders and those pulling buggies paraded down the middle of Locust and Main street.
There was a birthday cake for Jesus float
and another one carrying a live performing rock and roll band.
Girls scouts paraded behind picture frames for a Polaraids of the Past theme.
There were girls on four wheelers, retro pin-up girls on the back of a pick-up truck
and color guard girls tossing candy cane batons.
The old cars that cruised down the main drag
included a Volkswagen bus covered in Christmas wrapping paper
Between the clowns and the fire engines, I thought somebody’s pants must be on fire.
Even Santa ran our town’s one stoplight and he shouted “Merry Christmas” to the crowd as he did.
