13 Thursday Orb it
1. Peony is the big bang of flower blooms.
2. Did you know that the Universe actually makes noise? When two black holes collided 1.3 billion years ago, THIS is the sound it made, very similar to a heartbeat.
3. I’m having second thoughts after just making an appointment with a doctor named Kwak.
4. I love graduations and think of them like weddings x 10 because they embody so much hope. The speeches are inspiring and celebration is in the air. I’ve been covering our local high school graduations for nearly a decade now. The one I went to on Saturday was the first time in 23 years that it was held outside, after a rainstorm ended the 1993 one and everyone was directed inside (which I was at and remember). Being outside the graduates could throw their hats in the air. I had been waiting 23 to see that. Hats off to Graduates HERE.
5. We just saw The Reverent, an excellent movie whose title is not about revenge or reverence, but means “one that returns from the dead.”
6. Lately I’ve been thinking of death as moving to a retirement home.
7. I had an “old boyfriend” dream this week and one in which I was set to give a poetry reading in a big auditorium but only brought one poem and regretted it. I was torn between just leaving and going on stage with what I had and played out both scenarios. I felt the dream’s deeper message was about how, because of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I don’t function from my full potential but do the best I can with what energy I do have.
9. A line I once saw in a poem that I wished I had written: Hey, Goddess, can I call you God for short?
10. I just noticed that Queen Latifa looks like Pearl Bailey.
11. Even though I repeatedly declined an upgrade to Microsoft 10, it was upgraded over night without my permission like something out of a science fiction story. Needless to say, I was upset and disoriented, but the worst part was: after two days of getting half comfortable with it, the upgrade caused my computer to stop recognizing my wireless and I couldn’t get online. After not being able to solve the problem, I called what I thought was the Microsoft Tech support and was told it was not the real Windows 10 because they do not upgrade without permission and that it would cost me $250 to fix. I told them they were just as likely to be the scammers as the fake Windows 10 hackers might be, and it turned out they were. I called our Floyd tech guy and paid him much less to come out to fix it. And I learned that if Microsoft upgrades without your permission you have a month to revert the system back to 7 (or whatever you had) by going to settings. Click “update and security” and then recovery.
12. Found scribbled in one of my old notebooks: “Do what feels right, not what feels good.”
13. Out and About Outhouses in Floyd HERE.

its the ‘surprise!” factor that would do me in, as to upgrades. How clever of you to spot the second scammer as well…
We upgraded to 7 about two years ago, I think my husband got one of the last copies being offered, and as he put it, by the time we have to upgrade, it probably wont matter to us. I guess its good for maybe 8 or 10 years yet.
My peonies are just beginning to open, as are the poppies and the purple allium…. From here on out every week will have a new color scheme. Which is kinda neat.

I think I wrote about the disaster with Windows 10 and how I lost my PC and paid over $100 to get it back at Best Buy Geek guys and then lost my printer because the driver could not be updated. I bought a new printer and now that I am back to Windows 7 I use the new and need somewhere to put the old printer. It was a horrible experience and I do not see how Microsoft is not being sued with a class action.

1. Peonies have the best smell ever!
2. It does sound like a heart beat.
11. Is good to know and I am so glad you found out the $250 was a scammer.
I can not believe how many dishonest people out there trying to make a buck???????

Flowers like fireworks. Cool.

I agree that MS should be hit with a class action lawsuit. What they are doing is like spreading a virus. I can’t believe they are blaming their own stupidity on scammers when it is really MS doing the scamming.

Stop in from Alice. Those are beautiful peonies and that one thing I don’t have.
If you find the time stop in for a cup of coffee

There was a Radio 4 programme about the Windows 10 upgrades recently. Apparently the stealth upgrades have happened to many folk.
Some say that Microsoft changed the status of the upgrade from optional to recommended and that is what caused it to become automatic on many PCs.
I still use Mac for ‘fun stuff’. It always seems so polite about asking for permission to do upgrades and similar.
