Wild Thing
The Dance Parties don’t stop. After dancing with Alice to Follow the Yellow Brick Road at the Baltimore Mobile Community Brick Factory, we were surprised by another dance opportunity.
Besides visiting Josh and making bricks at the Community Mobile Brick Factory for future public art, another part of going to Baltimore was to see Joe’s family, sisters and their children that live in Baltimore and his sister and mom in Bethany Beach, where more dance parties ensued when we hit the boardwalk with our ice cream cones and caught The British Invasion public concert.
It was fun to look around and see the people of my generation singing along and dancing. My favorites were Wild Thing, a song by the Kinks, the Doors and the Beatles finale. I could have done without the Archies song, but I was in such a good mood that even Neil Diamond’s Caroline sounded good and was easy to dance to.
My grandson Liam was Born to be Wild. Not one for lullabies, I sang Born to be Wild to him as a while bouncing him on my lap, and he loved it. Although he did tolerate Hush Little Baby, Born to be Wild was his favorite.
The day before, niece Katherine showed us her Irish step dancing in a park at a Farmer’s Market.
We met up with her and her mom to eat from nephew Drew and company’s Farm to Charm Food Truck.
And the day before that another of Joe’s sister’s came to make bricks. There was no dancing involved, but there was dinner together, and this (see below).
Definitely a wild thing.
And this is one of my favorite wild thing shots.
Tomorrow it’s forecasted to be warming. I think we’ll take off our jackets and walk the beach, if not dance it.
